This star landing in Ericeira, Portugal, in July 2022, was born Michael Lamar White IV in 1999 in Canton, Ohio. His rap career started during his teen years by editing mixtapes and videos. This sparked interest in the public, the press and publishers alike. Trippie Redd went viral thanks to mixtapes like Beast Mode, Awakening My Inner Beast and his most relevant work at that point, A Love Letter to You, released in 2017. His success continued to grow following A Love Letter to You 2 and his single “Dark Knight Dummo”. It was then that Trippie Redd featured on the Billboard top Hot 100 chart for the first time. In 2018, he released a series of singles as a prelude to Life’s a Trip, his debut album. In Life’s a Trip Trippie Redd showed the world that he was no ordinary rapper, with a strong and engaging personality and his very own way to express himself. He also has an impeccable work ethic. After publishing instalments 3 and 4 of A Love Letter to You the artist released a new album in 2019, entitled !. This album is a tribute to his friend XXXTentacion, who had died in 2018 after releasing his album called ?. Trippie Redd’s ! presents a sound inspired by names such as T- Pain, Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne and, less obviously, by Kiss and Marilyn Manson, and includes elements of trap and even emo rap. Even during the pandemic Trippie Redd kept working at a fast pace and 2020 brought Pegasus, featuring PartyNextDoor, Chris Brown, Rich the Kid, Young Thug, Future, Lil Mosey, Quavo, Busta Rhymes, Sean Kingston and Lil Wayne, amongst others. Trip at Knight saw the light in 2021, one more record to captivate a global audience, including the Portuguese audience, who will be looking forward to the rapper’s repertoire live on 2nd July 2022 at Sumol Summer Fest.
