Tione Jayden Merritt, known artistically as Lil Tjay, was born in 2001 in the Bronx, New York. Following albums such as *True 2 Myself* (2019), his debut, and *Destined 2 Win* (2021), which marked his breakthrough, *State of Emergency* (2020) was another important step in building his discography, featuring a sound more focused on drill, reflecting New York’s music scene. *222* (2023) reinforced his relevance in contemporary hip-hop, confirming his growth and ability to adapt to an increasingly competitive market. His music, often autobiographical, reflects both the struggles of daily life and his determination to overcome adversity.
