SAINt JHN is Carlos St. John’s musical moniker. This young rapper grew up between New York and Guyana, acutely aware of two very different realities and social asymmetries.  When he realised the power of the word he knew music was the path to follow. He first established himself through his work for other voices like Kiesza (“Bad Thing”, “The Love”, and “Piano”), Gorgon City (“Doubts”), and Usher (“Crash”),  who are just a few artists who benefited from this young Brooklyn talent. He continued this line of work whilst he began to plot the course of his own career with the release of 1999 on Soundcloud in 2016. Tracks like “Roses”, “Reflex”, “3 Below” and “Some Nights” came to prove that SAINt JHN’s talent was to be taken seriously by audiences and critics alike. In 2018 he released his single “I Heard You Got Too Litt Last Night” ahead of his debut album, Collection One, influenced by Beenie Man and Jay-Z. SAINt JHN can master the language of R&B and, at the same, reveal himself as one of the most original voices of today’s Caribbean– influenced trap music. He says he makes music he wants to listen to and, judging from the millions of streams and concerts everywhere, his music also pleases crowds around the world. Audiences in Portugal can tune in to the rapper’s creations on July 2nd 2021 at Sumol Summer Fest.
